NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Chicago Bears by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 6) - Classic black and blue division win.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 4) - Jay Cutler is tough. Bears' defense is even tougher.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 5)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 5) - If you haven't already noticed this team is built to win now. OC Mike Tice has made a huge difference as Cutler isn't getting hit nearly as much.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 5) - Shades of '85? Bears' defense continues its dominating ways, with the Lions their latest victim.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 5) - The Bears sit atop the NFC North for one reason - they are the only team in the league that has allowed fewer than 100 points. Defense remains Chicago's calling card.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 2) - The Bears might be the best team out there. Offense, defense, special teams, you name it. They have everything but body armor for Jay Cutler.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 6) - With a defense this potent, it's all on Jay Cutler to keep things simple.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 8) - The Bears defense could push the team into the top 5 in the next few weeks. Trying to figure out if Cutler can deliver what the three quarterbacks ahead of the Bears can deliver.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 4) - You can talk about how old this defense if you want. However, it's time to start focusing on how great they have been this year.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 3) - Start reserving space for plenty of Bears defenders like cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman and linebacker Lance Briggs at the Pro Bowl.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 2) - They have the best defense in the NFL by a wide margin, and the offense isn't bad either.
