NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Chicago Bears by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 7) - Defense has that Super Bowl look.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 2) - At times, their defense has been more explosive than their offense.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 6)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 5) - Looking more and more like a playoff team with outstanding defensive performances.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 6) - Bears come off bye week with a bang: home to the Lions in a huge NFC North showdown on Monday night.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 6) - The Bears are one of four teams coming off a bye this week along with Carolina, Jacksonville and New Orleans. Chicago has the best record of the four coming off byes at 15-8.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 2) - They can win with their defense, but can they win with Jay Cutler? We're about to find out.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 6) - The growl has returned to a defense allowing only 14 points per game.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 8) - A week off, and on a three-game winning streak. They could run off three wins coming off the bye with games against Detroit, Tennessee, and Carolina. Next week could be a big jump into the top four.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 5) - The Bears defense is scoring TD's at a record pace and the offense is "finding their way." The Bears will be tough to beat with this equation.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 3) - With the exception of wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (hand), the Bears will be coming off their bye with a healthy roster entering Monday night's game against Detroit.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 6) - The combined winning percentage of the four teams they have beaten is .380.
